|Earthquakes, the violent shaking and vibrations of the Earth’s crust, are distributed unevenly around the globe. They are mainly located near the plate boundaries, with a few of them located in the middle of a plate. This is because when two plates are touching each other and not moving smoothly, friction is formed and pressure is built up. There is more energy stored at the boundaries of tectonic plates, so there are more earthquakes at the plate boundaries. There are places with lots of earthquakes, such as the East of Eurasian Plate, the West of North America Plate, and the West of South America Plate. Some specific countries, such as Japan, are located close to the plate boundaries, therefore has a lot of earthquakes.
U don’t need to know about me, I am just someone that posts lots of stuff.
